About Us
Established in 2013, Locum PA Ltd was created by Physician Associate graduates from St. Georges University London. Locum PA was the first company providing Physician Associate Medical Services on a contractual basis.
The company has evolved over the years as the profession has grown within the UK. Locum PA provide an unrivalled understanding of the industry, making Locum PA the leader in Physician Associate Medical Services.
There are now >3000 PAs working across the UK and it’s forecast that by 2030, there will be 10,000 qualified PAs, ~50% of which are expected to be in primary care.
Locum PA has over 1500 MVR PAs registered with us and over 100 clients.

Joseph graduated from St Georges University London in 2011, he has worked in Vascular surgery, General surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, A&E and General Practice.
Joseph created this company after locuming in GP in 2013.
He has a Minor Surgery Certificate & a special interest in Dermatology. He has also taught surgical skills at St Georges University during the special topics week.
In his free time he has trained to become a qualified snowboard instructor and yachting day skipper.
Alex Reynolds

Secondary Care Lead
Alex graduated from St Georges University London in 2014 and worked in Stroke for 2 years. Today he works in Vascular Surgery at St George's Hospital and as a Senior Physician Associate lecturer at Reading University.
He takes an active role in running the Faculty of Physician Associates examination Sub-committee. He is also a dedicated National OSCE station examiner and provides advice for hospitals on Physician Associate jobs.
In his free time he loves adventure travel. He has travelled the world and has seen the penguins in Antarctica!

Berrymead GP Surgery
GP located in Buckinghamshire and serve 12,000 patients.
Berrymead Surgery had struggled to recruit a salaried GP for a long time and were using differnet locum GPs to cover all the required sessions per week. They were looking to reduce expenses, and gain continuity but still maintain an excellent & safe quality of service for patients. We approached the surgery and offered some taster sessions to show them how experienced Physician Associates work in primary care. We were able to save them 40% on their locum agency costs and improve their continuity of care. BM were very happy with the service, we were able to save them time by using our live scheduling platform, cost savings compared to agencies and provide a better continuity of care for their patients.

We were approached by a walk in centre who were struggling to hire salaried GPs to fill the 08:00-20:00 - 7 day rota. After our presentation of our services, how PAs work in primary care and the technology our company uses we initiated a trial period. Our Physician Associates were able to traige and see an undifferentiated mix of acute and chronic medical conditions that presented to the site. With our personalised service provision and individual client manager we were able to cover gaps in their rotas. We have acquired ongoing contracts covering adhoc shifts at this site.
